  • CHECK OUT TIME:  10:00 am. Late check out available upon request depending on next day reservations.

  • QUIET HOURS:  10:00 pm to 8:00 am. If you arrive or depart during quiet hours, please pretend the campground is filled with light-sleeping, hardened street fighters who just start scrapping when they are awoken. If someone is not respecting quiet hours, please call or text us. Guests who violate our quiet hours policy will be given one warning. After the first warning, they will be asked to leave.

  • YOUNGIN's, DELINQUENTS, and NO-GOODERS: Camping reservations will not be issued to anyone under 18 years of age. Put another way, groups of campers under 18 years of age must have at least one (1) member over 18 years of age present, hopefully much older. Refer to our quiet hours policy--this place turns into a library after 10:00 pm. Also, so as not to trigger flashbacks to the worst-ever group to visit the Desert of Maine Campground in our entire history, no bachelor parties or other ruckus gatherings are allowed. This is a quiet, serene campground.

  • EXPLORERS: Do not use another site other than the one assigned to you without permission. Do not camp outside of designated campsites.

  • VEHICLES

    • All vehicles must park at their assigned campsite or in designated parking areas. Do not block the road or prevent access to other campsites. Max of one (1) vehicle per site. Additional vehicle parking is always available in the larger parking lot near the entrance to the campground.

    • The RVs allowed in the campground are vans and truck Campers. Max length of 18ft. No travel trailers, Class A, Class C, motorhomes, tear drop trailers, pop-up trailers, or other RVs of any kind.

    • Drive slowly (10 mph max) within the campground.

    • Do not leave your vehicle running in the campground.

  • VISITORS: Visitors are allowed in the campground between 8:00 am and 10:00 pm.  All campers are responsible for their visitors. A maximum of 6 adults are allowed per site at any time.

  • PETS: We love dogs. We accept all scruffy-duffy boys and girls (i.e. well-behaved dogs) regardless of breed. Dogs must be registered ($10/night per dog). Service dogs are exempted from the nightly fee. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended. Unfortunately, dogs who bark too much are probably stressed out by the camping experience so we will have to ask their owners to help them calm down or take them back home. Please clean up after your dog(s). Other types of pets are not allowed.

  • SMOKING or VAPING is not permitted on the premises. The Desert of Maine is a tobacco-free campus.

  • ALCOHOL is permitted within your campsite for campers of legal age. Do not take alcohol outside your campsite. Please do not get out of control or you will be asked to leave.

  • CAMPFIRES are only permitted in the provided fire rings.  Do not leave fires unattended.  Do not move the fire rings.  Do not burn cans, glass, or trash. Firewood is available for purchase 24x7 (self-service, honor system) at the Camp Store . To prevent the spread of harmful pests, firewood should not be brought from out of the area--in fact, it is illegal to bring firewood in from out of state.

  • FIREARMS AND FIREWORKS are prohibited on the premises.

  • WASTE DISPOSAL: Please take your trash with you when you leave. You may use on-site trash cans or the trash and recycling dumpsters in the main parking lot.

  • DISHWASHING: Use the utility sink in front of the bath house for washing dishes. Please remove food particles before washing dishes to prevent clogging the drain. Do not wash dishes in the bathrooms or at your camp site.
